Margaret, an officer in the army and the undisputed leading national expert on immigration and the American armed forces, notes a number of key findings in her report: As of June 30, 2009, there were 114,601 foreign-born individuals serving in the armed forces, representing 7.91 percent of the 1.4 million military personnel on active duty. Roughly 80.97 percent of foreign-born service members were naturalized U.S. citizens, while 12.66 percent were not U.S. citizens....

Hi,
I am lawful permanent resident of United States, my I-130 is going to be expired on July, 2010, the last time I returned to United States was on October, 2009 and also depart on October, 2009.
I am now planned to return and live in the US for good on September, 2010, however by that time, my I-130 will be expired. Since my last time I left from US was on October 2009 and it is less than one year between the date I am going to return to US for good on September 2010. For this case, should I be fine by just holding just my green card to return to US for good.
Please kindly advise.

Hi,
I have applied for my H1B transfer from my current employer to a new company. I have not had any issues with my current employer with pay or anything like that. I have maintained my H1B status with my salary coming on time as promised and have all the paystubs and correct documents. My new employer is a big american MNC and they have hired a well known law firm for transfer process.
My only question is I have not informed my current employer yet and will inform him in a weeks time once my LCA is done and transfer is filled. He will not be very happy about this and I have initially signed an offer letter which says I will work with him for atleast a year and its only been 6 months so far. Can he create any problems in my transfer by cancelling my current H1 or any other problems with my reliving? Pls help.

I entered U.S with B1/B2 visa and got changed into F1 status. While F1 status got approved
I departed U.S due to family matter.
Now I'd like to make it sure that my B1/B2 visa is still valid,because I plan to visit to my friend who lives in U.S.
How to check my B1/B2 visa could be remained still valid?

I recently received an RFE - I 140 and USCIS is asking for all the W-2's from 2004 - till date as i came to U.S.A in November 2004. I got my SSN in Jan ' 2005 and i have all the W-2's from 2005. I am currently unable to understand what to do in this situation. Did anyone had the same problem like me. Please shed your thoughts on this. :confused: :mad:

Can I change to different employer while the i140 is pending and also keep the PD. What i would like to do is..i want to change to a different employer and ask the present employer to keep the i-140 process as it is.
Is it ok if the i-140 gets approved while i no longer work for that company. I understand if i get any RFE, then employer need to respond accordingly.

I am EB3 - Dec 2004 filer and there is no hope for few years that my date get current. i have filed another GC through my sister in May 2006 and that F4 category is moving quicker and expecting my priority date will be current in 5 years through my sister.
i have bought 2 Family house in Jersey City. now for my kids education we thought to move to India for 4 to 5 years until we get call for GC though my sister.
we are going to rent house - it's multi family near NYC. my landloard is willing to take care of it in our absence.
my Q is can we get B1 (Visitor visa) for 10 years , if we show that we have property in US and we may need to visit just to take check it ??
should we inform immigration officer about GC filed though my sister to assure that we will not stay in US longer, to get B1 visa?
can we get visitor visa before leaving USA? i mean converting from H1 to B1 for multi year?
i would appreciate some suggestions.

it is safe to go with EB3 route. You can file another one in EB2 latter and port the date.
